The adapter works well enough except that the plug often slips out so I have to adjust it a few times a day typically. I’ve got it hanging over one of the drawer handles on my desk which seems to help (for some reason, having it lay on the floor made that happen even more). It does still happen while hanging from the drawer when I move around, but not all the time.
I also have had to unplug it entirely from the surge protector and plug it back in to get it to kick back on, but that has only been 2-3 times in the last 6 weeks.

I purchased the Hotor ac/dc converter 1 year ago for use in providing DC electrical power for an auto tire inflator. Without placing any electrical demand on the auto electrical system via cigarette lighter direct connection to the DC power tire inflator I simply plug the Hotor into an AC source, the DC female connector to the DC male adapter of the tire inflator. With use in 100 degree and 25 degree temperatures no failures have occurred. No more traveling to a service center and paying to inflate your auto tires to proper pressure as tire pressure changes due to heating and cooling. With a minimum investment in a tire inflator which is small enough to carry for emergencies one can extend the life of their tires and keep the safety factors of proper inflation. The Hotor gives in-depth specifications for all operating windows and excellent customer support, a competitive price and quality construction with attention to detail such as maximum cable length. I will purchase another Hotor if I need one for another location…five stars!

My application uses 2-2.5 Amps 12V DC. It is put under load for about 10 hours a day. I am very pleased that this unit develops no noticeable heating at all. I also use a Schumacher PC-6 120AC to 6A 12V DC Power Converter for the same application and not only does that unit get quite warm, it stays warm when plugged in and not in use! I do suggest that when sizing a converter to your application that you more than at least double the amperage of the converter to what your device uses to avoid excessive heating.
I did deduct one star for the same problem others have mentioned, the power cord disconnects very easily. I plugged the power cord in and applied a dab of Goop on 2 sides of the plug and it now stays nicely in place.

I have a 12V 250psi air compressor that I often use to pump up sports equipment, bike tires, and other things. The annoying thing is that it can ONLY connect via cigarette lighter input. So whenever I need to use it, I have to go out to my car. I wanted to be able to use it inside and bring it into places where we park far away. So gave this a go and it works perfectly. No power lost in the compressor, still pumps just as fast. Nice cord length to not be standing next to a wall. Also the power brick-to-wall cable is a standard one that can be replaced with most other DC brick cables which is really nice!

I was trying to power a 12 inch automotive radiator fan in my garage so I need to convert the 120volt ac down to a manageable dc to run it on, I am not an electrician so I don’t know if I will burn the fan out or not with this unit as the fan draws 6.6amps and this is an 8.5 amp converter. It was the closest match I could find. Anyways it has had about 18hours of constant use so far and has not had any issues the fan works perfectly so this little unit has been awesome.

This seems petty and stupid, but I appreciate that this item came in an actual box with a nice label on it, nothing extravagant but it was more effort than a simple plastic bag like most things of this nature and it just feels like the company at least cares enough about putting a good foot forward to present their product and I appreciate that.
The converter box feels solid and the cords are nice, the car plug end feels well made, nothing feels flimsy.
The car jack end can be removed from the converter box, I imagine you could use this for other plugs somehow if you wished or could replace that end if the original was damaged, so its good that its not hardwired in which would have been cheaper for them to do and would have required less connections.
I like the touch on it that the indicator light is a pleasing blue color and is not overly bright, it gives it a touch of class for such a utilitarian device.
My only ‘con’ would be that I paid about $17, I was hoping to get away with a $10 price, but then again like they say, you get what you pay for and I feel that this is worth the price they are asking.

I have no complaints for the price.
I used this with the AstroAI Portable Air Compressor Pump and filled 6 tires (32, 36, and 35 (4) PSI respectively) and the brick was not even warm– granted I did use this brick outside on a cool day so that may be a factor. I was worried that the device would heat up quickly, as someone used a thermometer to show that the device overheated., but that did not happen with me.
I really like that it comes with an indicator light that turns on when there is power being supplied to the converter. I would recommend this converter as it’s cheaper than the AstroAi converter and is a solid build.

Bought my friend a heated blanket for Christmas for when she was roadtripping. She always runs cold, so she wanted to use the blanket inside as well, so I bought this so she could use the blanket indoors. Worked great, exactly as expected!
